Project of the month - July 2018

1 July 2018

The enchanting coffeetable for children to play on

Here at the headquarters of Rubio Monocoat, it can make us very proud when we get to see unique, creative projects that are finished with our products. At the end of the day, that’s what we do it for: get positive feedback of customers who are very happy with Rubio Monocoat as their choice.

And this was no different with 3x3 Custom and her table: an extremely creative, stylish project finished with Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C.  “My train table looks like a regular coffee table except for the train tracks that are routed out directly on the table top,” she explains.  “Its part of my mission to transform my playroom at home by building toys that look like high end pieces of furniture.” She came up with the idea because she was sick of looking at ugly plastic toys in the playroom. “My son loves to play with trains, but he doesn’t love building the tracks. Now the tracks are always there, ready for him to start playing.”

The products of Rubio Monocoat have lots of advantages, she explains: I love that it is one coat, and done. That saves me a lot of time and I am able to start moving on to my next project. I also love that it’s safe for me and my children. Oh and it smells really good.

If we tell her about our toy standard certificate, she is surprised! “Wow, I knew it was a safe choice for my family, but didn’t know it was actually certified for toys. That is really reassuring to know.”

Toy standard:
This European guideline regulates the migration of certain hazardous elements like barium, cadmium and mercury etc. in different types of toys. The decision reflects that wood treated with RMC Oil Plus 2C or RMC Hybrid Wood Protector is safe for children. It also means that chopping boards, kitchen worktops, tabletops etc. which have been treated with RMC Oil Plus 2C are also safe for domestic use.
