Preparation
Prepare the surface. Clean it with Exterior Wood Cleaner and rinse off the surface with clean water.
Stir & apply
Stir WoodCream well. If you’re using WoodCream Softener, dilute first and stir well again. Apply carefully and evenly to the vertical surface with a WoodCream Brush, in the lengthwise direction of the wood, and keep a wet edge. Work in zones of 3 to 4 boards in the direction of the wood fibre. Spread out the product in one go with the application brush and go over it several times.
Let dry & apply an optional second layer
Allow the surface to dry 12 hours or apply a second application in case a more opaque result is desired. Always add WoodCream Softener for the second layer and apply after at least 3 hours of drying time and preferably within 24 hours.
Maintain
Enjoy the self-cleaning effect of the wood. Check once a year after the winter season if the protection is still intact. If maintenance is needed, clean the wood with Exterior Wood Cleaner, dilute WoodCream with WoodCream Softener and apply the product again.

FAQs
Why is 0% VOC important?
Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) are chemicals that evaporate after applying oil, harming both health and the environment. They can cause allergies, breathing issues, and eye irritation while also contributing to ozone depletion and climate change. Yet, many traditional wood finish manufacturers only reduce VOCs instead of eliminating them. Luckily, we choose to be different.
We strive to make products without any harmful substances for planet and people and we’re proud that WoodCream is VOC free. That way, we can guarantee safe wood protection for our employees in production, the professionals applying our products and the homeowners.
What’s the difference between DuroGrit & WoodCream?
DuroGrit and WoodCream differ in several key ways, especially when it comes to the type of surfaces they’re suited for and the final look and feel they provide.
WoodCream is a wax-based, hydrophobic cream specifically designed for vertical wood surfaces such as cladding, fences, windows and doors. It colours and protects the wood and can be applied in one or multiple layers. Its finish is more opaque than DuroGrit, making it ideal for changing the original colour of the wood or for renovation projects where sanding back to bare wood isn’t possible. WoodCream is also extremely water-repellent and has a self-cleaning effect, which significantly reduces maintenance.
DuroGrit, on the other hand, is a water-based oil fortified with wood fibers, developed to maintain the wood’s original colour and prevent greying. It delivers a very transparent, matte finish that preserves the natural look and feel of the wood. In addition to strong UV resistance, DuroGrit also offers excellent wear resistance, making it suitable not only for vertical applications but also for horizontal surfaces such as terraces and outdoor furniture.
When should I use WoodCream Softener?
You can dilute WoodCream with WoodCream Softener in several cases. It creates a more transparent effect or an aged look when used with Grey collection colours. The Softener also improves application on roughsawn, very porous or dry wood (<14%) and in case of application in 2 layers for a more covering effect. In addition, it makes application easier in the heat and direct sun thanks to the longer drying time. Lastly, you should always use WoodCream Softener for maintenance and renovation.
