Heritage Build-off for charity

The build-off

Rubio Monocoat South Africa organised another edition of their Heritage Build-off. For the 2026 event, they challenged 12 local makers to each design and build one original piece of interior furniture. The styles ranged from modern to traditional, and every piece was finished with our Pre-Aging and Oil Plus 2C.

The finished pieces were then auctioned online throughout September, with all proceeds going to the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA). The auction raised an incredible R229,333 (€12 324.36). 🚀

On 9 October, the makers, sponsors and CANSA came together for the official handover of the auction cheque. It was a meaningful moment that showed what this project is about: craftsmanship that makes a difference well beyond the workshop.
